Client satisfaction in a memory clinic: Results of a questionnaire survey

Abstract

Objective:To assess client expectations and satisfaction with a memory clinic specialized in the early detection of dementia.

Methods: 81 outpatients and 80 relatives of the Nuremberg memory clinic participated in a questionnaire-based evaluation of the diagnostic routine of the institution.

Results: Diagnostic assessment within 1.5 hours and feedback within a 15-minute consultation was widely ac-cepted. 82% of study participants felt better informed after the visit, 96% said that memory clinics should have a firm place within the health system.

Conclusions: Beyond diagnostic information, clients expect information about other support services for dementia patients and their caregivers.
